Think theres an issue with the update source, hasnt been playable for a few months now past the ship scene. If anyone else has this problem report it. For now though if you have a PC you can enable Windows Sandbox, then you can download the game and play it within that Sandboxed instance without any potential harm to your computer. Or wait until like v 0.3 the update was very short nearly not noticeable

That said, I almost wish there was a fast travel of sorts, or perhaps a shortcut between the mansion and the cabin area. My thoughts there are like, you find it shortly after your mother goes missing, trying to look for her. Anyways, very solid game. When the rest comes out, I am excited to see, and not just mentally, lmao.
