If you haven't had a chance to play the first part of the game yet, I totally recommend giving it a go. Trust me, it's worth it! In this episode, get ready to reunite with familiar acquaintances and meet some new ones too. Our main character has grown up a bit and is now heading off to school to become a keeper. Like ReplyAAANNNDD there goes my immersion. Side stories could have been incorporated into the main story. Especially if you are gonna make them requirements to continue. The problem is the following: if you have a side story, which should meet the main story at some point, you can't seperate the two this much. I love the story, the world, the people in this game. That's why I can play for hours on end, being fully immersed the whole time. 1/2
Like ReplyBut when I have to step back and read through an "unrelated" story with completely different characters, it doesn't just break my previous immersion, it actually just makes me dislike the new characters and story. That's because I would rather follow the people I already know and like. Now, even in the first "chapter", it's easy to figure out where the new characters are. This however, doesn't prevent the feeling of this being alien. 2/3
Like ReplyThere is a "physical" divide between the two stories. In your mind you can feel it, even if you are explicitly told, that they are both from the same universe and will be connected. What should have been done is that this should have been incorporated into the main story and should have been set up, perhaps using the backstory of Hikari. And after that, the stories have to run at least somewhat paralleled. In it's current version, it hurts the game more than it helps.
Like ReplyAlright. So after touching some grass and coming back, the seperate chapters aren't bad. The problem is that it's just an entirely different story/game. No joke, this should have been 2 small games with a 4th game as a finale. I mean maybe some like it this way, but I think most people would rather just focus on one story at a time, which you simply can't do here. Both are great stories, but the format is just pulling the whole thing down.
Like ReplyIdk about others, but I am playing this in multiple sittings, while not being able to save between them. This makes it so that I would want to skip to the part I was at every time I restart. Problem is, after like 2 minutes of straight skipping, the game basicly becomes a laggy mess, that is unplayable. Obviously the game can't keep up with the speed of the skipping. Adding a lot of auto helps, but it's a huge waste of time. Pls fix or add a mechanic to skip to specific loactions.

Like ReplyMan, the author's attention to detail and revisiting of places, people, etc is so nice. I mean, these are such amazing games. I swear to you, that if these games had a proper artist to draw scenes or smth and if you exchanged some characters to be males, this would be just a straight up masterpiece. People will most likely disagree with my last point, but for story purposes, males would be preferred in many cases. It would be more grounded and consumable for the public.
