Like ReplyTwo things I'd alter: I'd let focus be kept after battles. On one hand, a point in making it hard to get focus, but on the other, you can use items to get focus before a battle anyway. I think it'd feel better and a bit more strategic if it was continuous I'm *really* iffy on the current implementation of encounters. You press 'Q' and you hop between rooms and that just allows you to never encounter anything. Some overworld enemies might help?
Like Replythis game is actually pretty damn good. if there were some health cheats it would be nice. but over all i'd put it above Astrid: Blade of Vallundra & Town of Magic games.
